Paris Saint-Germain are edging closer to signing Illia Zabarnyi in a €60m transfer from Bournemouth, who recently sold Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid.

PSG had attempted to complete a move for Zabarnyi during the first summer transfer window so he could play in the Club World Cup, but they failed to get the deal done in time. However, report negotiations have resumed and look to be heading towards a positive conclusion for the Champions League winners.

Zabarnyi is said to have been lined up a potential successor to PSG stalwart Marquinhos. The club captain is still only 31 years of age and has enjoyed arguably the finest season of his career to date in 2024-25, leading the French giants to a continental treble, but plans to replace in him in the future are already being drawn up.
